However, a few years before the incident, she had started drinking around Asahikawa’s entertainment district, “Sanroku-gai.”
“She began associating with local antisocial groups and was even dealing marijuana and cocaine… Riko herself was at fault too, as she started hanging around with badly behaved police officers and spending money recklessly.”

This town is finished.

Asahikawa is not Japan anymore, is it?
So she was having an affair with these so-called badly behaved police officers.

I mean, if she was buying and selling drugs, would that not mean another arrest and a heavier sentence?

The police covered it up, so no problem.

If there is a whistleblower, they would probably have no choice but to move.

A woman who claims she knows the Uchida family saying it with a sigh is not enough for that.

It probably depends on how they handle those so-called badly behaved police officers.
If they dig too deep, it could turn into a huge scandal where police officers were involved in drug dealing, so there is a chance they just will not investigate.
I want those citizen-arrest YouTubers to charge into cases like this.

Maybe they should just wall off Asahikawa with barricades and release brown bears inside.
It would probably become more peaceful that way.

Overseas, when cops do bad things, it comes out properly and becomes a problem,
but Japland police thoroughly hide everything as an organization and sweep it under the rug.
This country is done.

Really?
I hear corruption is normal overseas.

Overseas is better because corruption actually comes out as corruption.
“Japanese police do not do corruption!!” sparkle sparkle
That is the unhealthy one.

I am not trying to defend Japanese police,
but what kind of corruption has come out overseas?

In America, cops who carried out illegal searches, theft, and interrogations
get arrested or fired based on bodycam and surveillance camera footage as evidence.
And that footage gets released online.
Japan does not have widespread bodycams, and even when they get sued, there is no duty to submit footage, so they can hide as much as they want.

Arrest her again and redo the trial!

Apparently police officers overseas are a bottom-tier job, so corruption happens all the time.

The more I hear about Asahikawa, the less it sounds like a city humans should live in.
25 Name:Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Posted: 26/06/11(Thu) 11:12:46 ID:SXsT
So if you sleep with them, you can get connections with the police?
Even with a face like that?

The adults are rotten, so even school bullying gets ignored with teachers in on it too. No wonder vicious crimes do not decrease.
27 Name:Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Posted: 26/06/11(Thu) 11:14:19 ID:3ylr
It is so awful that I might start getting prejudiced against people from Asahikawa.
29 Name:Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Posted: 26/06/11(Thu) 11:14:40 ID:zYLr
They have no choice but to elect a mayor in nothing but suspenders.

It really is a slum.

Was there not some indecent policeman who was hanging out with this girl after the incident?

Hokkaido is a polar region where warriors got sealed away, after all.
There are a lot of lunatics there.

When unbelievable vicious crimes keep happening one after another, is police corruption the cause after all?

Is this Kamurocho?

What a wonderful town.

I have the impression that Hokkaido police have quite a lot of scandals too.
39 Name:Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Posted: 26/06/11(Thu) 11:32:24 ID:vquq
Hokkaido probably just got poorer than it used to be.
