Following the accident off Henoko in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, in which a boat capsized and two people, including a female student from Doshisha International High School in Kyoto Prefecture, died, the Helicopter Base Opposition Council, which operated the two boats, updated its website on the 11th. The group issued a warning message saying that on social media and elsewhere, “numerous malicious defamatory posts and rumors targeting specific individuals and member organizations, as well as false images made with generative AI for defamatory purposes, have been confirmed.”
