The earliest overseas reviews of Toy Story 5 are in: “10 out of 10, no complaints,” “a masterpiece on par with 1 through 3,” “I was a sobbing mess,” “kids today and adults who were kids when the first movie came out can both enjoy it.”
“Toy Story 5 is a heartwarming and brilliant comeback for Pixar Animation Studios. It reminds you why the Toy Story series remains one of the greatest film franchises of all time.
Toy Story 5 stands alongside the first three films. It perfectly blends humor, emotion, and that unmistakable Pixar magic.
While the story depicts a conflict between toys and technology, it never loses sight of what made these characters so special in the first place.
It is moving, funny, and deeply affecting. Toy Story 5 looks set to become one of the best films of 2026.
And Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” will almost certainly be a contender for Best Original Song this awards season!
Just like the first, second, and third films, Toy Story 5 is an animated masterpiece.”

A score about as trustworthy as a Famitsu review.

They’re reacting like one of the first four somehow flopped.

I’m still too scared to watch 4 (´・ω・`)

Even if you can’t watch it, you’ll be able to catch it on Friday Road Show! Lucky you!

If you’re not that attached to Toy Story and won’t feel some burning rage over it, you can watch it.

It was just straight-up fun.

Just tell me whether it’s connected to 4.
If it is, I’m not watching.

It’s confirmed to be connected.

4 is fun too, but the problem is that the ending of 3 scored about ten trillion points.

Maybe because I watched 4 before 3, it didn’t feel that weird to me.
The ending, though, is night and day.

The thing about 4 is that Buzz barely shows up.

His intelligence got cut by more than half, but he still had a pretty decent amount of screen time!

4 is an unlucky number, so it’s basically skipped, right?

What’s 5 about?

They fight an iPad.

Do they even have a chance……?

There’s already a spin-off episode about a kid obsessed with games, so it doesn’t feel that fresh.
In that one, it just ended with the kid playing with toys after all.

People kept calling 3 a masterpiece, but I thought it was creepy as hell, so I’m done watching these.

Same, I don’t like it that much apart from the ending.

I like the earlier numbered ones more.
Probably just nostalgia talking.

With full-on nostalgia goggles, I like 1 best too.

2 is the one nobody really remembers. Was that the one where Woody’s arm almost got torn off?

The scene where they fix Woody is great.
48 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Posted: 26/06/11(Thu) 15:49:56 ID:XcXm
Was 3 really that much of a masterpiece?
49 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Posted: 26/06/11(Thu) 15:51:10 ID:PVns
Honestly, I think it’s a one-hit wonder carried by the ending.
And even that doesn’t hit if you’re the type who still can’t let go of toys, unlike Andy.
