Books.

Why?

Cringe, lol.

They’ll probably pin this on the Chinese and say, “It’s all the foreign scalpers’ fault.”

8Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 05:56:56.22 ID: ID:eiTQIxTNM

What book?

9Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 05:58:06.73 ID: ID:r5bxMxhe0

You get a card if you buy a Shueisha comic. Everyone swarmed to get the One Piece card.

Wait, people are swarming for something like this?

48Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:11:27.91 ID: ID:7czcU3OO0

More importantly, it’s sad how the One Piece art really looks like it was drawn by an old man now.

What is this trash?

10Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:01:18.95 ID: ID:iwYBT47E0

More and more pathetic people out there.
Seriously, so gross.

11Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:03:11.99 ID: ID:vjcrg/SAa

So lame, lol.

12Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:05:11.82 ID: ID:43/o0+2D0

We’re really starting to become like China, lol.

13Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:09:11.01 ID: ID:kQimMqAQ0

All that effort for such a measly profit.

15Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:12:03.06 ID: ID:VNc5v3mA0

How unsightly.

16Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:12:16.46 ID: ID:nHcVtILD0

So what happens to the books they don’t need?

17Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:14:12.44 ID: ID:ECeC1WwfM

Mercari, which made it so easy for anyone to flip items, might be the root of all evil.
I think they should shut down person-to-person trading.

21Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:18:01.70 ID: ID:a+yXYoYY0

>>17
Apparently, there are scalpers who go to Gashapon machines first thing in the morning and wipe them out of all the popular items.

22Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:18:39.80 ID: ID:fmDc63ny0

>>17
I wonder what would happen if easy flipping methods
like Mercari were regulated.
Would they just flee to Yahoo Auctions or something, even if it’s a hassle?

18Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:16:14.98 ID: ID:m9cXZzry0

So greedy.

19Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:16:52.10 ID: ID:IA6KqdLl0

Can’t they just limit it to one per person?

23Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:18:43.49 ID: ID:by5QyMaC0

I guess the bookstores don’t care as long as they sell.

26Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:22:11.53 ID: ID:fmDc63ny0

>>23
Do you really think so even after seeing this disaster?
At the very least, it’s causing trouble for the staff on the front lines.
People aren’t buying the books to read them; just like with Bikkuriman stickers or
Kamen Rider snacks, they just want the bonus item and will definitely
throw away or sell the book itself.
I’m sure it’s complicated for clerks who actually love books.

24Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:20:44.73 ID: ID:/yiZRKSv0

Lots of bookstores are closing down anyway, so who cares.

25Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:21:08.43 ID: ID:PXsTXBQJ0

Now that I think about it, there are no bookstores nearby anyway.

27Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:23:38.74 ID: ID:uT87RaaW0

What’s so interesting about One Piece?

28Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:23:53.86 ID: ID:jimwK0jv0

Greedy.
I never want to end up like that.

29Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:24:17.33 ID: ID:rOfoYYxRH

I was wondering why there were a bunch of brats lined up in front of the bookstore on a weekday morning yesterday. So this is what it was.

30Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:25:16.46 ID: ID:ZjamDGSD0

Unlike old rare cards, aren’t all the ones being printed now going to the supply side? The price won’t go up.

36Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:33:56.02 ID: ID:bZfbCY1J0

>>30
If it were only Japan, maybe. But this is global, so supply and demand are way out of whack.

31Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:29:10.84 ID: ID:oSh/wiA40

I don’t know about domestic demand, but international demand is so high that they sell for a lot.
No matter how many tens of thousands there are, it’s not nearly enough for the global population.

32Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:29:27.85 ID: ID:Zvw3r6un0

So base.
It makes me feel sick.

33Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:32:14.19 ID: ID:bZfbCY1J0

Manga bonuses, old Jumps, old console games… they’re all rising in price. They sell for crazy amounts overseas, so foreigners are invading too, and the public manners have gone to hell.

34Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:33:46.35 ID: ID:KdNeVndS0

Huh, I didn’t know that.
Well, it’s good that bookstores are getting some attention.

35Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:33:47.59 ID: ID:u2f9iixG0

We’re in an era where even manga can sell for hundreds of thousands of yen if it’s a first edition in good condition.

37Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:35:43.60 ID: ID:X4v+CGvwa

100% looking creepy.

38Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:38:34.90 ID: ID:ffYJvcWt0

They’ve been doing this for a long time, why are scalpers popping up now?
Honestly, it might be a good thing for the bookstores.

Japanese beef bowl losers looking like Chinese people.

I’m sure there are Vietnamese and Chinese people in there too.

42Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:47:40.98 ID: ID:Z4vWuNef0

Where is this kind of information shared?

43Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:53:55.97 ID: ID:t85eGQ0b0

Since it’s just scalping, it’s only causing this much chaos.
Imagine if it was a panic buying battle for daily necessities during a disaster.

44Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 06:55:01.79 ID: ID:4XISrwUE0

Too many people with no margin in their lives.

Especially in Tokyo.
Not enough money, not enough time, not enough education/job security, not enough pride.
There are a lot of weird people.

45Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:02:10.20 ID: ID:5TdLtojL0

I don’t want to become an adult like that, how unsightly.

46Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:07:17.82 ID: ID:4XISrwUE0

It’s not even a game card.

There are some with ridiculous selling prices,
so they’re swarming. So gross.

55Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:18:17.08 ID: ID:4XISrwUE0

There are way too many people on X who want to blame foreigners for everything.

It’s the Japanese.
Japanese people have low public standards.

I’m sure it’s not zero, but the majority are Japanese.
Japan has descended to the same level as poor African nations where people sell drugs or join gangs to survive.

58Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:21:08.72 ID: ID:7Fk4pgpG0

I wonder if the people scalping these are paying their taxes properly.

78Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 08:10:08.83 ID: ID:vHbSQNLf0

>>58
As if scalpers have any knowledge of taxes.
They became scalpers because they’re low-IQ and can’t earn a living properly.

59Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:23:23.27 ID: ID:f1uNwPe80

The people selling them must be laughing all the way to the bank.

60Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:24:02.91 ID: ID:i6M2814l0

Buy low, sell high.
This is the basis of commerce.
Unless you deny capitalism and the market economy, you can’t get rid of scalpers…
That’s the reality.

63Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:29:40.94 ID: ID:QyOjI7kR0

Both the men and women look so ugly.

65Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 07:31:39.12 ID: ID:tjxmI6jP0

Some even sold for 13,000 yen, lol. No wonder they’re swarming.

Japan has really become so poor that you can’t make a living without scalping.

73Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 08:03:41.50 ID: ID:JemDBtQl0

Can’t we somehow blame this on foreigners?

75Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 08:07:57.26 ID: ID:Fm+CR+l30

Selling stuff you won at Comiket to shops in Akihabara is basically the same as scalping too.

77Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 08:09:26.10 ID: ID:PbtSTtUU0

I thought it was mostly collectors and not just scalpers, but if it sells for this kind of stupid price on Mercari, of course people are going to scalp it.

The Vietnamese/Chinese: “It’s the Japanese.”

74Unknown Japuzz Watcher2026/07/02(木) 08:05:30.98 ID: ID:+2II6Qqa0

The problem is that for Shueisha and the bookstores, this is a “success.”
They sold a ton of books for scraps of paper that cost practically nothing, and they can just push the cost of dealing with these cockroaches onto their part-time staff.
