The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s International Crime Division announced on the 18th that they have arrested a company executive, 39-year-old Hotei Aizawa, and his wife, 37-year-old Olivia, both residents of Minato Ward, Tokyo, on suspicion of violating the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act (landing).
They are accused of accepting requests from wealthy Chinese individuals to file fraudulent residency applications to help Chinese nationals enter Japan illegally as babysitters.
According to the police, both suspects have denied the allegations.
