Doesn’t your room smell?
2 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:40:10 ID:GuF1
You smell like sweat.
3 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:40:18 ID:1BZJ
It smells, but you just get used to it and stop noticing.

How bad does your room smell…

The hostess I was with yesterday smelled like half-dried laundry too.
By the way, even if clothes don’t smell when dry, the smell comes back if they get wet from sweat or rain…
6 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:41:16 ID:2MEu
Nobody actually does that, right?
7 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:41:22 ID:HN6K
They’re probably half-dried because they don’t think about anything at all.
12 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:42:19 ID:uK8t
Just buy a dryer.
13 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:42:36 ID:8d22
Seriously, stop drying your laundry indoors.
15 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:42:52 ID:1BZJ
>>13
But more people are doing it these days, right?
16 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:43:34 ID:mFFz
Either use a laundromat or at least use indoor-drying detergent and ventilate properly.

During the rainy season, being on a crowded train is brutal when you’re stuck between the “musty laundry guy,” the “pencil-smelling guy,” and the “BBQ-smelling guy.”

If you buy a washer-dryer, you don’t have to waste any time hanging laundry, so why go out of your way to make your life harder? Are your family members being held hostage or something?

How many loads do you expect me to run for four people? Plus, I feel like electric dryers don’t dry everything properly.
24 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:47:29 ID:2MEu
Well, there are clothes you can put in the dryer and clothes you can’t…
27 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:48:23 ID:mFKZ
Even the giant dryers at the laundromat take a long time if you have a big load.

Me: “Bathroom dryer, please save me.”
Dryer: “Leave it to me.”
Next day
Me: “Bathroom dryer…?”
Dryer: “Sorry.”

Living a life where you have to worry about the electricity costs of dryers and bathroom ventilation seems pretty tough.
36 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:52:56 ID:1BZJ
At the very least, you should use a dehumidifier and a circulator fan.
37 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:54:36 ID:KHyw
Just put your socks over a hair dryer and blast them for a few seconds.
41 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:55:22 ID:1BZJ
Bath towels are the hardest to dry.
42 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:55:29 ID:mFKZ
>>41
I know, right?
43 Name: Unknown Japuzz Watcher[] Date: 26/07/02(Thu) 08:56:20 ID:2MEu
For bath towels, I just use the dryer while I’m sleeping or at work.

Maybe a dehumidifier in the bathroom? If they start to smell, for cotton towels, I use boiling water sterilization, and for others, I soak them in Benzalkonium Chloride. If you have citric acid from the 100-yen shop, a high concentration soak works too. Rinse after soaking and wash normally.

Some people smell like tacos.

Once clothes have that half-dried smell, a normal wash won’t get it out. You gotta use OxiClean, chlorine bleach like Haiter, a powerful dryer, or pour boiling water on them.

For that half-dried smell, sodium percarbonate is the way to go. You can even use it to sanitize cutting boards. Chlorine bleach is risky because of color fading and that lingering smell, plus you have to rinse it super thoroughly. Sodium percarbonate fundamentally sanitizes the odor and doesn’t require obsessive rinsing.

I’ve tried everything, and chlorine bleach is the most powerful. But yeah, the colors get wrecked.

When plastic cutting boards get stained and it won’t come off, sodium percarbonate doesn’t work, so I use bleach. Then I soak the board in hot water with citric acid to get rid of the bleach smell.

I heard plastic cutting boards aren’t good though. Bits get shaved off into your food…

There’s no point in spending money and effort on something you could just endure.
