I watched the PV and the ships and stuff were CG. I thought they’d animate everything since they have money from Netflix and a decent budget.

Well, One Piece is basically a “dead” franchise in Japan anyway, and it feels like they’ve completely shifted focus to overseas audiences. I guess it doesn’t matter to them since they’ll have their own dubs.

Honestly, I’d rather have the Katakuri fight redone by WIT Studio than East Blue. That would look amazing.

The East Blue arc was aired during prime time, so the original anime quality was already pretty good.

Maybe it’ll build hype again if the kids watch it from the start.

If they’re remaking it, I’m sure they’ll put a lot of effort into the combat scenes.

Watched the teaser, but maybe I’m too used to the Toei version, it felt kinda off. The BGM doesn’t feel like One Piece either.

But there’s no suitable candidate, right? I can’t imagine any young voice actor being able to do Luffy’s voice.

I hate that Luffy’s eyes have become round. I liked Luffy when he had those cat-eyes in the early days.
