“Takahashi’s remarks make it look as though he does not understand the properties or distribution structure of naphtha. First of all, naphtha is highly volatile and, with one wrong move, can cause a massive explosion. Handling quantities above the designated amount requires permission, and it is not the kind of thing ordinary households can stockpile like toilet paper. Takahashi himself said he ‘searches for it and buys it,’ but I do not think there is really any situation where an individual would use naphtha as-is.
