When it was serialized, reading weekly made the later developments feel drawn out and boring, which was tough.
But when you read it all at once in the comic, you don’t feel that as much and it’s interesting.
Still, I think Madara would have been a better final boss than Kagura, who appeared out of nowhere.

In the sequel BORUTO, the enemies are so strong that the ninjutsu built up in NARUTO becomes meaningless, which is sad.
Orochimaru and others are sidelined too.
